Opera Unite is a new online collaboration technology, based on the Opera 10 web browser’s simple and sophisticated shared server features such as data sharing service. Accordingly, Unite will completely subvert the traditional “client – server” model, making each computer can not only become a client but also become a server, then the computer can be directly connect between the peer-to-peer interaction through networks and information sharing, no longer need to transit through a third party server. Currently, Opera Unite provides us with a file-sharing, media players, photo albums, chat rooms and other services even able to change your computer as a network server role.
