Firebug, one of the most popular Firefox addons for web design and development tool that allowing to inspect HTML, modify CSS style and layout in real-time and more, was officially released the Google Chrome extension version Firebug Lite 1.3.0 beta recently from the Firebug Working Group. Firebug Lite provides the rich visual representation we are used to see in Firebug when it comes to HTML elements, DOM elements, and Box Model shading. It provides also some cool features like inspecting HTML elemements with your mouse, and live editing CSS properties. Anyway, it’s just a lite version of Firebug, so you are not allowed to read external resources, would not work well on pages with frames, JavaScript debugger and Net Panel are not available.

Firebug Lite features:

  • Same look and feel as Firebug;
  • Inspect HTML and modify style in real-time;
  • Powerful console logging functions;
  • Rich representation of DOM elements;
  • Extend Firebug Lite and add features to make it even more powerful.
